作家プロフィール｜Profile
鳥取県出身、山形県在住。東北芸術工科大学文化財保存修復学科卒。アート★アイガ（東京）、みうらじろうギャラリー(東京)、寒河江市美術館（山形）、ナセBA(山形)にて個展。当店のほか、ART GALLERY UMEDA(大阪)、ターナーギャラリー(東京)などでグループ展。『アートコレクターズ』(生活の友社)に作品掲載。
Born in Tottori Prefecture, currently residing in Yamagata Prefecture. Graduated from Tohoku University of Art and Design, Department of Cultural Heritage Conservation and Restoration. Solo exhibitions at Art★Aiga (Tokyo), Miura Jiro Gallery (Tokyo), Sagae City Museum of Art (Yamagata), and NASEBA (Yamagata). In addition to our gallery, group exhibitions at ART GALLERY UMEDA (Osaka), Turner Gallery (Tokyo), etc. Works featured in "Art Collectors" (Seikatsu no Tomosha).

主催者ごあいさつ｜From gallery
- 八頭こほりは『アートコレクターズ』誌の完売作家特集にもいくどか掲載され、美人画の文脈で受け取られることの多い作家かと思いますが、その魅力の大きな源は、人物の背景に描き込まれた風景描写ではないかと思っています。鳥取出身、山形在住のこの作家の描き出す、豊かな自然と人物描写を、どうぞこの機会にごゆっくりお楽しみいただければ幸いかと存じます。
YAZU Kohori has been featured numerous times in the sold-out artist specials of "Art Collectors" magazine, and is often perceived in the context of beautiful women paintings. However, I believe a major source of her charm lies in the detailed landscape depictions in the backgrounds of her figures. I hope you will take this opportunity to enjoy the rich depictions of nature and figures created by this artist, who hails from Tottori and resides in Yamagata.
作家ステートメント｜Statment- もどかしくて鬱陶しい。 印象だけは鮮明で、掴むことも写真に撮ることも出来ない。 幽霊には実体がない。 記憶にも実体がなく、幽霊のようにいつの間にか立ち現れ、まとわりつくものだ。 記憶と幽霊は限りなく近しいもののように思う。 個人的な記憶の幽霊の姿を、色々な画材の力を借りて、ここに絵として遺そうと考えた。 それも誰かの記憶の幽霊となって、また中空を漂うのかもしれない。
It's frustrating and annoying. The impression is vivid, but it's impossible to grasp or photograph. Ghosts have no substance. Memories also have no substance; like ghosts, they appear out of nowhere and cling to you. I think memories and ghosts are inextricably linked. I decided to use the power of various art materials to capture the ghostly form of my personal memories and leave it here as a painting. Perhaps that too will become a ghost in someone else's memory and drift through the air once again.
