作家プロフィール｜Profile
鳥取県出身。鳥取大学地域学部地域文化学科を卒業後、大阪総合デザイン専門学校卒。当店にて個展多数。京都府立植物園(京都)、同時代ギャラリー(京都)、アトリエ「空白」(大阪)、 MERRY ART GALLERY別館(横浜)、銀座モダンアート(東京)、GALLERY龍屋(名古屋)などグループ展多数。
Born in Tottori Prefecture. Graduated from the Department of Regional Culture, Faculty of Regional Studies, Tottori University, and Osaka Comprehensive Design College. She has held many solo exhibitions at our gallery. She has also held many group exhibitions at Kyoto Botanical Gardens (Kyoto), Dojidai Gallery (Kyoto), Atelier "Kuuhaku" (Osaka), MERRY ART GALLERY Annex (Yokohama), Ginza Modern Art (Tokyo), and GALLERY Tatsuya (Nagoya).

主催者ごあいさつ｜From gallery
- 近年はグループ展で少数の作品を展示するのみだった畫正ですが、このたび４年ぶり３回目の個展を開催する運びとなりました。故郷、鳥取の民俗的伝承などをテーマにしてきた作家ですが、その作風は耽美で儚く、幽玄でエロティック。どこか泉鏡花の作品を思わせる、伝奇的エロティシズムの世界、どなた様もお見逃しなきようお願いいたします。
In recent years, Gashow has only exhibited a small number of works in group exhibitions, but this time she will be holding her third solo exhibition in four years. She is an artist whose themes include the folk traditions of her hometown, Tottori, and her style is aesthetic, ephemeral, mysterious and erotic. Her world of legendary eroticism is somewhat reminiscent of the works of IZUMI Kyoka, a Japanese novelist in Taisho era. We hope that everyone will not miss it.
作家ステートメント｜Statment- くちなわ、蛇は手足はありませんが 前に進む事ができる生き物です。
私は伝承や感情をモチーフに描く事が多いですが どれも確固として在り続けるものではなく いずれ無くなる、或いは変化して続いていくものです。 また作品を描いてる時に、朧気ですが小さい頃「うちには白い蛇の神さんが住んでる」と祖母に言われた事を思い出し、 今も守ってくれてるといいな、というのも込めて タイトルとさせていただきました。
昨年から今年、自分自身に変化の多い時となりました。 作品数は決して多くありませんが、ご高覧いただけますと幸いです。
Although snakes do not have arms or legs, they are creatures that can move forward.
I often use folklore and emotions as motifs to paint, but none of these things are permanent and solid; they will eventually disappear, or change and continue on. Also, while I was painting my pieces, I vaguely remembered my grandmother telling me when I was little. She said "there is a white snake god living in our house," and I chose this title with the hope that the snake is still protecting me.
From last year to this year, I have been through a lot of change myself. Although the number of works I have created is by no means large, I would be happy if you would take the time to take a look.
