1990年東京都生まれ。東京藝術大学大学院修了。ゲンロン新芸術校第6期修了。ストロベリー・スーパーソニック(東京)、LIGHT HOUSE GALLERY(東京)にて個展。新宿眼科画廊(東京)、Art Gallery Shirokane 6c(東京、Medel Gallery Shu(東京))などでグループ展。CAF賞2016入選。
Born in Tokyo in 1990. She completed graduate school at Tokyo University of the Arts. Completed the 6th term of Genron New Art School. She had solo exhibitions at Strawberry Supersonic (Tokyo) and LIGHT HOUSE GALLERY (Tokyo). She has had group exhibitions at Shinjuku Ophthalmology Gallery (Tokyo), Art Gallery Shirokane 6c (Tokyo), Medel Gallery Shu (Tokyo), etc. Selected for CAF Award 2016.

主催者ごあいさつ｜From gallery
- 宮野かおりはいわゆる少女マンガのタッチでファインアートを手がけている作家です。ご存知の通り近年、キャラクター絵画と呼ばれる一群の作家たちが数多く活躍していますが、「少女」マンガにフォーカスしている点で、この作家の立ち位置はやや特異かもしれません。90年代に少女漫画的表現に取り組んだ西山美なコも交えたグループ展を自主企画するなど、その取り組みは非常に自覚的かつ活発です。今回は自身の妊娠、出産も踏まえた制作に挑戦。新たな取り組みに是非ご注目お願いいたします。
MIYANO Kaori is an artist who creates fine art with a touch of so-called shojo manga(girls' manga). As you know, in recent years, a group of artists known as character painters have been active, but this artist's position may be somewhat unique in that she focuses on "shojo(girls')" manga. Her efforts are very conscious and active, as seen in her own planning of a group exhibition that also included Nishiyama Minako, who worked on shojo manga-style expressions in the 1990s. This time, she is challenging herself with creating works that take into account her own pregnancy and childbirth. Please keep an eye on this new endeavor.
作家ステートメント｜Statment- 聖母マリアは16歳でキリストを出産したという説があります。女性にとって、妊娠・出産は人生を大きく変える出来事です。しかし、聖母マリアの妊娠中の生活や出産の様子はほとんど語られていません。彼女はどのように「少女」から「母」へと変わったのでしょうか？
また、聖母マリアは少女マンガの主人公によく見られる「選ばれた少女」という特徴を持っています。普通の少女であったマリアは、突然「聖母」という役割を与えられ、まず妊娠・出産という「危機」を乗り越えました。その姿は、特別な力を授かり運命を切り開く少女マンガの主人公と重なります。そして現代まで続く聖母マリア信仰は、多くの人々や少女たちにとって彼女が憧れの存在であったことを想像させます。では、彼女はどのように妊娠や出産と向き合ったのでしょうか？
この個展では、私自身の妊娠・出産の経験と少女マンガの表現を用いて、聖母マリアの妊娠から出産までに思いを馳せる作品を展示します。少女期の終わりと母の始まりによって少女の身体の内外に起こる危機や戦いを描ければと思います。
It is said that the Virgin Mary gave birth to Christ at the age of 16. For women, pregnancy and childbirth are life-changing events. However, little is known about the Virgin Mary's life during her pregnancy and childbirth. How did she change from a "girl" to a "mother"?
Additionally, the Virgin Mary has the characteristic of being the "chosen girl" that is often seen in protagonists of girls' manga. Mary, who was an ordinary girl, was suddenly given the role of "Virgin Mary," and first overcame the "crisis" of pregnancy and childbirth. Her appearance overlaps with the protagonists of girls' manga who are granted special powers and carve out their own destinies. And the belief in the Virgin Mary that continues to this day suggests that she was an object of admiration for many people and girls. So how did she face pregnancy and childbirth?
In this solo exhibition, I will use my own experience of pregnancy and childbirth, and the expressions of girls' manga, to display works that evoke the Virgin Mary's pregnancy through to childbirth. I hope to depict the crises and struggles that occur both inside and outside a girl's body as her girlhood ends and she becomes a mother.
