1999年、伊奈学園総合高等学校美術コース卒。「世界バレエフェスティバル(World ballet festival)」他、バレエ公演のオリジナルグッズの作画やデザインにも携わる。2021年、当店にて初個展。当店のほか、モダンアートプロデュース(東京)、ギャラリーカノン(東京)、GALLERY龍屋(愛知)などでグループ展。
In 1999, graduated from Ina Gakuen General High School Art Course. She is also involved in drawing and designing original goods for ballet performances such as the World Ballet Festival. In 2021, her first solo exhibition at our gallery. Group exhibitions at Modern Art Produce (Tokyo), Gallery Canon (Tokyo), Gallery Tatsuya (Aichi), etc.

主催者ごあいさつ｜From gallery
- 草野水樹はバレエ公演のオリジナルグッズの作画やデザインも手がけるいっぽう、美人画の文脈で活動してきた作家です。アクリルと岩絵具の双方を使って乾いてマットな質感で描かれる、少女と動物たちの共存は、どこか現実ばなれして見えます。この美しく、ちょっと不思議な草野水樹の世界を、この機会にご堪能いただけましたら幸いです。
KUSANO Mizuki is an artist who has been active in the context of Bijin-ga, while also handling and designed original goods for ballet performances. The coexistence of girls and animals, which is drawn with a matte texture using both acrylic and rock paint, looks somewhat sureaelistic. I would be grateful if you could enjoy the beautiful and mysterious world of KUSANO Mizuki at this opportunity.
作家ステートメント｜Statment- 天使と聞くと何を思い出すでしょうか。 純粋で無垢な生き物の象徴として少女や動物たちを主なモチーフとして扱っていますが、彼女たちの中にある聖性や美しさを表現するのによく天使のようという表現を耳にします。 私の今までの作品群の中にも「天使にならなきゃ」という同一タイトルの作品がいくつかありますが、天使にならなければというその想いはどこから来て誰のためなのだろうと考えます。 それは自らの内側から自然発生したものなのか、それとも外側から向けられた理想が彼女たちの無意識に働きかけ続けた結果なのだろうか。ただひたむきに生きているだけではいけないのだろうか。そもそも天使とは？ 生命そのものがそれだけで尊いように、ただそれだけの生命であることをそれで充分なのだということを大切にしたいと思います。 いつか、天使のふりなどしなくても良くなることを願って。
What do you think of when you hear the word "angel"? I use girls and animals as my main motifs as symbols of pure and innocent creatures. I often hear the expression "angelic" being used to depict the sacredness and beauty within them. Also among my works so far, there are several works with the same title "I have to become an angel". But I wonder where the feeling of becoming an angel came from, and for whom. Is it something that spontaneously arises from within me? Or is it the result of the ideals directed at them from the outside that continue to work unconsciously on them? Is it not enough that we just merely live earnestly? What is an angel in the first place? Just as life itself is precious in itself, I would like to cherish the fact that life itself is enough. I hope one day I won't have to pretend to be an angel.
