初期には強い絶望感を感じさせる作品の多かった池田ひかるですが、2021年のドローイング《ダンス》で描いた明るい光は、強く印象に残っています。その後、タブローの中にも少しずつ希望を感じさせるものが増えて現在に至っていますが、やはりどこかに不穏な気配も見て取れます。作家のそうした内面の成長と揺らぎをお感じいただけましたら幸いです。
Many of Ikeda Hikaru's early works evoked a strong sense of despair, but the bright light she depicted in her 2021 drawing "Dance" left a strong impression. Since then, her tableaux have gradually become more hopeful, leading up to the present day, but there is still a sense of unease to be found somewhere.
