音喰ねねは京都市立芸術大学で日本画を学びつつも、従来の日本画とは一味違う素材、技法を使い、現代的な若者たちを描いてきた作家です。使用するのは主に岩絵具ですが、支持体は綿布。独特のカスレがドライでシャープな画面を作り出しています。その画風は、ともすれば昨今の「美人画」が伝統回帰の色合いを見せるのとは逆に、いま現在の若者たちの等身大の感情や感覚を伝えてきます。山本冬彦の推薦作家にも選ばれた俊英の個展、是非ご高覧ください。
While studying Japanese painting at Kyoto City University of Arts, OTOBAMIi Nene is an artist who has been using materials and techniques that are slightly different from traditional Japanese painting to depict modern young people.She mainly uses mineral pigments, but the support is cotton cloth. The unique blurring creates a dry and sharp picture. Her style conveys the life-sized emotions and sensations of today's young people, in contrast to the recent "beauty paintings" that tend to show a return to tradition.
